Under the Service Cost Recovery Surcharge, the surcharge changes on a quarterly based on the latest available data. The surcharge is eliminated once the CPI1 returns to 2% or less averaged over three months.
Your contract will determine which specific service fee (Service Cost Recovery Fee or Service Cost Recovery Surcharge) is applicable. Only one service fee would apply.
The Service Cost Recovery Surcharge is applied to invoiced services before taxes and appears on the invoice as a separate line item.
Regulated waste services are eligible for the Service Cost Recovery Surcharge. This includes biohazardous waste, sharps waste, pharmaceutical waste, and hazardous waste. In addition, for customers of Stericycle’s Integrated Waste Stream Solutions, all waste streams serviced under a bundled price are eligible for the fee or surcharge. This could include secure document destruction services, municipal solid waste, and recycling, among others, depending on the waste streams for which you have contracted.
