This policy ("Cookie Policy") is issued by Stericycle, Inc. and its affiliates, now part of the WM group, including Waste Management Service Center, Inc. and its affiliates (referred to ‎as "STERICYCLE", "we", "us" or "our") and provides information on how we use ‎cookies and similar technologies on our websites ("STERICYCLE-Websites"). The ‎information set out in this Cookie Policy is in addition to our Privacy Notice, which ‎provides comprehensive information about how we use your personal data both on the ‎STERICYCLE websites and offline. You can read our Privacy Notice; and if you require ‎further information on how we collect, process, and use personal data, please ‎contact DataProtection@Stericycle.com

Please read this Cookie Policy carefully for more details about the information ‎we collect when using our websites and where we use cookies.  ‎

What are cookies?

When you visit STERICYCLE-Websites, or view our services online, we or an ‎authorized third party may send you a cookie. Cookies are small text files located in ‎your browser directory that may be placed on your device. When a website is ‎accessed, a cookie that is placed on a device will send information to the party that has ‎placed the cookie. Each cookie will typically contain the name of the domain from which ‎the cookie has come, the "lifetime" of the cookie, and a value (usually a unique ‎number). For a more thorough explanation of what cookies are and how they operate, ‎please visit www.aboutcookies.org or www.allaboutcookies.org.

An overview of the cookies we use on the STERICYCLE-Websites

First-Party and Third-Party Cookies

Our STERICYCLE-Websites may place first-party cookies and allow third parties to ‎place cookies on your device. The difference between a first-party cookie and a third-‎party cookie relates to the control of the party who places the cookie. First-party ‎cookies are cookies that are specific to the website that created them. Their use ‎enables us to operate an efficient service and to track the patterns of behavior of ‎website users. Third-party cookies, on the other hand, are placed on your device by a ‎third party (i.e., not by STERICYCLE). While we may allow third parties access to the ‎STERICYCLE-Websites to place these cookies on your devices, we do not retain ‎control over the information supplied by the cookies, nor do we retain access to that ‎data. This information is controlled wholly by that third party in accordance with their ‎respective privacy policy.‎

Session and Persistent Cookies

Our STERICYCLE-Websites may place session and persistent cookies on your device. ‎Whereas the difference between a first-party and third-party cookie relates to the party ‎controlling the initial placement of the cookie on your device, the difference between a ‎session and a persistent cookie relates to the length of time the cookie lasts. Session ‎cookies are cookies that typically last for as long as you are using your browser, or ‎browser session. When you end your browser session, the cookie expires. Persistent ‎cookies, as the name implies, are persistent and will last after you close your browser ‎session. This allows for quicker and often more convenient access to our websites.‎

Clear GIFs/Web Beacons

Clear GIFs (also known as Web Beacons) are typically transparent and very small ‎graphic images (usually 1-pixel x 1-pixel) that are placed on a website, which may be ‎included in our services provided via our STERICYCLE-Websites, and typically work in ‎conjunction with cookies to identify our users and user behavior.‎

How We Use Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies and collected information to: (i) personalize our STERICYCLE-Websites and the services provided via our STERICYCLE-Websites, such as remembering your information so that you will not have to re-enter it when using our STERICYCLE-Websites and the services provided via our STERICYCLE-Websites; (ii) provide customized advertisements, content, and information; (iii) monitor and analyze the effectiveness of our STERICYCLE-Websites and the services provided via our STERICYCLE-Websites and third-party marketing activities; (iv) monitor aggregate site usage metrics such as total number of visitors and pages viewed; and (v) track your entries, submissions, and status in promotions or other activities offered through our STERICYCLE-Websites and the services provided.

The use of cookies also helps us manage and improve the usability of the STERICYCLE-Websites by (i) detecting whether there has been any contact between your computer and us in the past; and (ii) identifying areas of interest related to our STERICYCLE-Websites.

Advertising Networks

We work with ad networks, channel partners, mobile ad networks, analytics and measurement services, and others (“ad networks”) to personalize content, as well as to manage our advertising on third-party websites, mobile apps, and online services. We may share certain information with ad networks, and we may each use cookies, pixels tags, and other tools to collect usage and browsing information within STERICYCLE-Websites, as well as on third-party websites, apps, and services. This information may include IP address, location information, cookie and advertising IDs, and other identifiers, as well as browsing information.

Custom Lists and Matching

We may share or make available certain customer list information (such as your name, email address and other contact information) with ad networks, social media platforms, and other providers so that we can better target ads and content to you across third party sites, platforms and services.
