Stericycle’s CsRx® Controlled Substance Disposal Service is designed to safely and compliantly prevent diversion when disposing of controlled substance waste.
The DEA strongly encourages all practitioners to adhere to security controls and procedures that assure pharmaceutical wastage is not diverted.
Our service supports your organization’s diversion prevention efforts. Although additional measures throughout your facility are recommended, CsRx is a solution for safely disposing of controlled substance wastage immediately after patient administration, to mitigate drug diversion and protect the environment.*
The Program Includes:
*Only Controlled substances in schedules II, III, IV and V controlled substances can be accepted in CsRx containers. CsRx Service is for controlled substances that have been dispensed and administered to a patient at the registrant's location and need to be wasted at that location. CsRx is for controlled substance wastage only. It is not for the disposal of controlled substances brought in by patients or items that would be considered part of a facility’s inventory.
Unlike other products on the market, CsRx offers the perfect combination of safety, protection, and value. There’s no cumbersome equipment required or electrical or plumbing needed. And the material is disposed of via incineration to mitigate risks of pharmaceutical contamination of our waterways.
